It is not one of his favourite tracks, but that does not matter much. Valentino Rossi wants to keep the battle for the championship title open, despite the 43 points that separate him from Marc Marquez. The second place at Misano confirmed that the Doctor is competitive, so much to overcome Lorenzo and the number 93 Honda: “Even if I did not win, I think that it was a positive race – explained the rider from Pesaro – in the upcoming rounds we will need to do our best to achieve the best possible result.”

Rossi has very clear ideas for the season home stretch: “The only thing I care about right now is riding good races – he added – so at Aragón we will have to work hard from the first day, just as we have throughout the entire season.” The Doctor is well aware that this will not be one of the most favourable tracks: “The circuit has fast corners and demanding braking sections – he analysed – so having a good setting will be important. It is not one of my favourites, but I like the track and I will do my best.

Jorge Lorenzo, on the other hand, is called to the rescue. At Misano something more was expected of number 99 after the pole on Saturday: “We definitely had high expectations after the best time in qualifying – the Spaniard pointed out – Daniel and Valentino proved to be faster than me, but I am happy to be back on the podium after such a long time.”

Lorenzo knows the track at Aragón well, so much that he won in front of his home crowd last year: “Unfortunately, the track does not perfectly suit the characteristics of our bike – he added – In any case, in the past we have managed to win on various occasions. It will be a demanding weekend where we will work on the new tyres. I can’t wait to race at home and get back to winning.”
