Lausitzring: Torres leads ahead of Lowes, Camier 3rd on MV

Jordi Torres starts the free practice sessions off strong at the Lausitz Eurospeedway. The Spanish rider took the best time in the final minutes of the session astride his team Althea BMW at 1.37"775 . Close behind him was a lively Alex Lowes on his Yamaha with a gap of just less than a tenth (+0.097) ahead of Leon Camier and his MV Agusta (+0.139).

In the top positions, with Honda bringing up fourth with Dutchman VD Mark (+0.152), the Kawasaki and Ducati teams are missing at the moment, searching for the right race settings on a tricky track because of all the bumps. After another Honda in fifth place, Nicky Hayden's (+0.327) we find Tom Sykes' Kawasaki, finishing the session with the sixth best time at a 0.527 tenths gap behind Torres.

Seventh place went to the other Althea BMW ridden by home rider Markus Reiterberger (+0.534), whereas Chaz Davies' team Aruba Ducati was eighth (+0.593). Ninth went to Sylvain Guintoli after returning from an injury, with reigning champion Jonathan Rea closing out the top ten with a gap of almost a second (+0.945). The 11th spot went to Davide Giugliano who has not gone better than 1.39"158 at the moment.

The Aprilias ridden by Alex De Angelis and Lorenzo Savadori finished 13th and 15th with  Luca Scassa ending the session in 18th place.
