Fausto Gresini will be betting on Jorge Navarro next season in Moto2. The Spaniard, currently lying second in the Moto3 championship with the Estrella Galicia team, will move up to the intermediate class with the Federal Oil Gresini team. Jorge will ride a Kalex.

Although I had the chance to continue in Moto3, I felt the time was right to move up and take on a new challenge for next year - explained Navarro - This is why I have decided to accept the Gresini team's proposal”.

Fausto Gresini commented: “I'm pleased and proud to be able to continue with our programme in the Moto2 World Championship together with Federal Oil, our precious partner since 2012. Our efforts in recent years have led us to become frontrunners in an extremely hard-fought category and our results with Sam Lowes are proof of this, as he is currently battling for the title. In 2017 we are determined to remain at the top and so, with Lowes destined to make his MotoGP debut, our choice came down to Jorge Navarro, without doubt one of the most interesting young talents in Moto3, with whom we've come to a two-year agreement in the Moto2 category. Navarro has proved to be a quick learner, becoming one of the main players in his category in a very short space of time. We're therefore convinced that he'll be able to adapt quickly to the Moto2, a championship in which the current level is extremely high. It will be an exciting challenge and we cannot wait to start working with Jorge, as we know that, thanks to Federal Oil's support, we can offer him a first-class team and technical package. To this end we are already arranging a series of important test sessions in order to prepare him for his debut”.
