Rossi: "I paid a high price for the finale last season"

Valentino Rossi approaches the English Grand Prix still haunted by the ghosts of the recent past.

In fact, if in the usual interviews he has no longer spoken about what happened (or what he thinks happened) at the end of 2015, in a video that appeared on the official Dorna website, our hero even seems to blame his fluctuating 2016 season on residual stress from Valencia.

"Last year I came very close, but the season ended with an unfair finale - the nine time world champion said - I cannot forget it. The pressure and the energy that I put into last year demanded an extreme effort. In the last Grand Prix of the year I raced with a knife at my throat and if I had won I would have recovered the energy, but not losing. And I am paying for that this year too. Unfortunately the potential was there, but because of a bit of bad luck, a bit my fault, we are behind. With the disadvantage I have now, we can’t make any plans. We just need to ride race by race… although in sports you never can tell."
