The legendary Kenny Roberts suffered a heart attack on 14 August. He underwent successful surgery to repair a blocked artery and now, just two weeks after the incident, KR is having to deal with another incredibly stressful situation.

Roadracingworld reports that the three-time 500 cc world champion (’79-’79-80), who scored 22 wins and 39 podiums during his career, is caught up in a legal battle with his youngest son, Kurtis, and has filed a report with the Superior Court of California.

A legal document cites how Kurtis Roberts has "harassed and threatened me numerous times over the past year. The conduct continued to escalate until the harassment became physical. In or about the week of June 20, 2016, the last time I entered my property, ... (Kurtis) assaulted me, choked me and threatened my life."

As happens in many family disputes, Kurtis denies the accusations, claiming that his father had cut him out of a business venture. In the meantime, KR has obtained a restraining order against his son.

Meanwhile, Kenny Roberts junior, 500 cc champ in 2000, while not getting directly involved, is defending his father and trying to get his family to make peace.
