MotoGP, Silverstone GP at risk for Smith

The Tech3 rider will leave hospital tomorrow; he has a probable ligament injury but its nature is still unclear

Silverstone GP at risk for Smith

Unfortunately, it's not clear when Bradley Smith will be able to ride again. The Tech3 rider was competing in free practice at the Oschersleben 8 Hours when he crashed after making contact with a slower rider. There was initial concern that he had fractured his femur but hospital tests ruled that out.

Bradley has suffered a deep cut to his leg, with probable damage to the ligaments in his right knee. A Tech3 spokesperson, who's in touch with the rider, explained to us that right now the Brit's leg is still very swollen and so doctors are unable to make a precise diagnosis.

In the coming hours we will learn whether Smith will be able to take part in his home GP at Silverstone or when he is expected to return. He will, in any case, be discharged from hospital tomorrow.
