Alex Rins has fractured his left collarbone while training this afternoon.

The team Pons rider, currently lying 2nd in the Moto2 championship, stated: “I was training with the 100 cc bike and crashed. At first, it didn't really hurt but then the pain got worse and we decided to go to hospital. They've diagnosed a fracture and have advised me to have an operation so that I'm fit in time for Silverstone.

Alex will be operated on by Doctor Xavier Mir tomorrow morning at the Clinica Dexeus in Barcelona.
