Dovizioso and his doubts about the tyres: they struggle to go race distance

There is no point denying it: expectations are high in Austria for Ducati. After the tests in July, the two Andreas seem to be the men to beat on the Spielberg tarmac and giving them a helping hand will be wild card Michele Pirro as well.

The Reds have been chasing that elusive win for some time now and that has been the primary objective for at least a couple of season, so a friendly track could just be what had been missing until now. However, be careful not to make bricks without straw, especially when it comes to Marc Marquez, who was not at the tests. Furthermore, the other rivals also took advantage of the summer break to prepare for this round.

The Austrian track suits our bike very well, with accelerations in first and second gear and medium-long straights, so it is pretty easy for us to be fast - admits Dovizioso who, however, knows that there will be some unknowns to handle - Even though we demonstrated great competitiveness in the tests, it will be important to see what tyres Michelin brings to the race, because wear is particularly high. You slide a lot and the tyres struggle to complete race distance.

Iannone, who was the fastest (and not by little) in the tests, also has a positive outlook.

“The Red Bull Ring is a new track for everyone, but in the July tests we adapted very well straight away and we were always the fastest - he recalls - The track is very nice and it suits our Desmosedici GP well. On this track I found a good feeling with my bike straight away and this is a very positive aspect in view of the race.
