SBK, Torres: "We have the potential to aim for the podium"

Raffaele De Rosa's first time at Laguna Seca: "It will be a special weekend, a spectacular one"

Torres: "We have the potential to aim for the podium"

Genesio Bevilacqua doesn't mince words. He believes that the Laguna Seca round could be the perfect opportunity to make that big step the team's been waiting for.We can fight for the podium with Torres”, said team Althea's boss heading into the American SBK round.

Now it's over to the Spaniard, fresh from a fifth and seventh place at Misano: “I can't wait to get back to Laguna – he confirmed - I want to make the most of the weekend collect as much data as possible to continue the development work over the two-month break”.

In 2015 the BMW rider just missed out on the podium “Last year I really had fun, even managing to reach fourth place– he continued - the track is spectacular. After the step made in recent races I hope to be able to complete two great races – he added - I think we have the potential to improve and so we must work hard from Friday. I want to be optimistic.”

There are those who have never seen the track before. Raffaele De Rosa will debut at the Stars&Stripes track. The Italian rider, currently leading the Superstock 1000 championship ahead of Leandro Mercado, will substitute for Markus Reiterberger, injured at Misano.

De Rosa is not at all worried though: “Laguna Seca will be a new experience and so I'm more than happy - he declared - the races at that track are always special, spectacular. It's an historic track and when you ride tracks like that, like Assen or Mugello for example, there's always a magical air, and I expect something similar in America”.

Raffaele De Rosa prefers to keep his head down and focus on work: “I'm really pleased to have the chance to race with the Superbike and for this I thank Genesio and the team – he added - I'm really sorry for Markus, and hope he's soon back to continue his season. For now, I can't wait to leave and will try to complete two good races.
