Sooner or later every rider suffers a highside. This is Claudio Corti's at the Barber Motorsports Park, while riding his Aprilia in the MotoAmerica championship. Corti was battling it out with Josh Herrin and Taylor Knapp when he accidentally missed the gear, losing grip and the rear of the bike.
Fortunately ‘Short’ didn't sustain any real injuries, and was able to return to the track for Race 2 later in the day, closing in eighth place.
"After 15 laps – said Corti - I couldn't breathe as I wanted to because my ribs were hurting. And also my hands and ankle. But I continued to fight and even if I'm not leading the championship anymore, I don't consider myself beaten yet”.
The next race will take place in Utah, at the Motorsports Park, between 23 and 25 June.
"I can't wait to get there… but I need a couple of days rest first!”
