After yesterday's race one, the Iodaracing riders Alex De Angelis and Lorenzo Savadori wanted to make up for things and in today's race the two Aprilia men were consistent and fast, with Lorenzo closing in final fifth position and Alex De Angelis thirteenth, having made a great recovery after started last on the grid, due to an electronic problem with his RSV4.

The young rider from Cesena, Lorenzo Savadori, battled throughout the race with Alex Lowes and his R1, Jordi Torres with the Althea BMW and Nicky Hayden on the CBR1000, bringing home a very positive result, fifth, but one that he recounts with a certain degree of disappointment: “This was a great race for us, also because we had similar pace to the leader. Davies' crash slowed the group of which I was part and we lost time as a result… I could have been closer to the podium places, but am pleased nevertheless, this is a great result that we have all achieved together”.

Though pleased, Lorenzo wants more: “Being in the top five is great and I'm happy, but I am working to be further forward, we need to improve. Our weekend got better as it went on and I thank Iodaracing, Aprilia and everyone involved in this result, even though I had the pace to be with the leaders”.

The next round is Laguna Seca, a brand new track for the Italian.

Thta's a brand new track for me and I don't know what to expect, I know it's important to know the secrets to certain points, and the dangerous points; my aim is to learn as quickly as possible and I know I can count on my team's support, it is thanks to them that I am continuing to grow”.

Despite an apparently negative thirteenth place finish, Alex De Angelis' race is to be considered a positive one, considering the great recovery he had to make to get there: “I started well but the thing that helped me the most was the setting that we found in warm-up and my speed increased, both in terms of the flying lap and over race distance”.

Tomorrow's test will provide Alex with an opportunity to further improve the bike: “Tomorrow we'll try to find solutions to eliminate the problem that I had today, from mid-race the tyres lost grip and the bike became really jumpy. It was still a positive race though, but without that problem I could have finished two places further forward. So tomorrow we'll see, because I want to be faster in the next races”.
