SSP: Fourth win for Kenan Sofuoglu at Misano

There's always a first time. And Kenan Sofuoglu experienced one of those moments at Misano today, having never before reached the highest step of this particular podium. But he's done it now, on board his Kawasaki. The Turk bided his time, studying his rivals closely before making his move in the final stages. Once he'd passed Caricasulo he quickly moved in on Jacobsen to secure what is a historic win for him at the track dedicated to Marco Simoncelli. The Puccetti rider leaves Misano smiling, as does Federico Caricasulo, who had started the race on pole.

The Italian rider did a great job of defending himself from his rivals, only letting up to the current champion. On the final lap, when Jacobsen was lying ahead of him in second, the Italian chose his moment carefully, attacking the Amercan at the Tramonto corner and securing second place overall ahead of the Honda rider who had to settle for third today. Fourth for Rea, followed by Krummenacher who has further distanced himself from the championship lead, and then Zanetti, Baldolini and Bassani. Also closing inside the top ten were Englishman Stapleford and Bergman. DNF for Cluzel, Badovini, Gamarino, Zaccone and Rolfo.
