SS: historic first pole for Caricasulo

At last something new, an up and coming talent who is finally showing what he's made of: Federico Caricasulo, the young rider from Ravenna, already on the podium in his debut race at Phillip Island, has also scored his first pole position in the extremely tough Supersport class, made up of champions, veteran riders as well as fast and hungry youngsters.

This young man was discovered by another Ravenna rider, a certain Marco Melandri who often trains with him and who strongly recommended him to the top Superbike teams.

Federico has set the Superpole at Misano on board the yellow and black Honda of team Bardahl Evan Bros; the local rider of course knows his home track very well.

With a time of 1’30”097, “Carica” will start from pole, with Kenan Sofuoglu alongside him in second place on the Kawasaki ZX6R. He closed 0.057 behind Federico, while the front row is rounded out by American PJ Jacobsen with the Honda Ten Kate.

Opening the second row in fourth place is Randy Krummenacher, ahead of another young talent, Cristian Gamarino, Kawasaki rider, and the very experienced Ayrton Badovini with the CBR600. The two closed ahead of Italian Alessandro  Zaccone, another Kawasaki revelations, who finished in front of Cluzel, apparently still in difficulty with the factory MV.
