Rossi: Salom's crash? perhaps a malfunction

There is no official update about Salom's condition after the incident in Moto2 FP2. There are no images of what happened, but Valentino Rossi clarified the situation having spoken with a friend who saw the crash first-hand.

Luis crashed in a strange place and so that leads me to think it was a bike malfunction - he explains - They told me he wasn't even able to turn and went straight as if it were a technical issue”.

If you run long at turn 12, there's not a lot of space before you reach the barrier.

It's true, but that's a particular situation because if you have a 'normal' crash, you take a different line and in that case the run-off area is sufficient - continues Valentino - We need to understand why Luis went long, from what I heard he tried to jump off but ended up between the airfence and his bike”.

The Spaniard has been transported by ambulance to the Hospital Universitari General de Catalunya.

We're hoping for the best”, concluded Valentino.
