Michelin confirms the Le Mans tyre for Mugello

Michelin has confirmed that the rear tyre with softer carcass, used for the first time at Le Mans, will also be available at Mugello. This weekend, riders will have two options, the soft and the medium, both asymmetric with a harder compound on the right side.

With regard to the front, there are three compounds to choose from (soft, medium and hard), as well as two wet options and one intermediate solution.

Piero Taramasso, manager of the motorcycle racing department, explains: “at Le Mans the new tyre worked well, but Mugello is totally different. We've arranged to have one tyre that performs well during harder braking and that offers significant grip during accentuated leaning. We'll also have to deal with significant changes in temperature because the track could exceed 40° but it might also rain”.
