Alex De Angelis has been declared "fit to race" by the medical commission at the Imola circuit and will therefore take to the track as usual this weekend with the Aprilia RSV4 RF of Team Iodaracing.

The San Marino rider broke one of the tendons in the little finger of his left hand during an accident during Sunday morning's warm-up at Assen. De Angelis underwent surgery at the Martini Hospital in Groningen and then saw the Clinica Mobile for several subsequent check-ups.

The Team Iodaracing rider, who had his stitches removed yesterday, will attempt to take part in the event also with the aid of a specially modified glove that can accommodate his still bandaged finger.

"I had no doubts about racing at Imola - states Alex - This and the Misano round are my home races and I couldn't miss it. For now I'm only thinking about getting on the bike and continuing to build the experience I need on the bike in order to achieve good results. The first laps will be exploratory, as I haven't raced here since my debut in the world championship, a long time ago, but I'm sure that we'll soon be sorted."
