Pirelli: At Imola with standard tyres

From the Assen lottery to Imola. The World Superbikes have landed at the Enzo e Dino Ferrari track for the fifth round of the season. While Holland was a complete unknown in terms of the weather, at Imola the only doubts regard Sunday, with possible rain forecast.

Pirelli will bring a total of 4602 tyres for the event, most of which are from the standard range, to meet the needs of riders across all the categories. If the track is dry, three different front solutions are available as well as three for the rear, as well as the rear qualifying tyre that can only be used by the riders who proceed to the second Superpole session on Saturday. In case of a wet race, there are the Diablo Rain or Diablo Wet intermediates.

The front tyres include one development tyre and two from the range. The development solution is the SC1 S1699, well used and appreciated by the riders during the opening rounds of the season as well as being the most used front solution throughout 2015. As far as the standard solutions are concerned, there is the SC2, of medium hardness and ideal in high temperatures because it guarantees tread solidity, and the new SC3, the hardest front tyre in the 2016 range, which debuted at the Assen round and is particularly resistant on abrasive surfaces and also in low temperatures.

There is also one rear development tyre and two standard solutions. The development solution is the SC0 T0611, which debuted last year at Imola. The tyre offers a very high level of grip if used in hot temperatures. As an alternative, riders can use the SC0, or in lower temperatures, the SC1.
