SBK, Rea: "wet or dry we should be competitive"

"It's the first time I'm riding the new bike on a wet track, but we seem to have found a good setting"

Rea: "wet or dry we should be competitive"

Sixth at the end of the first day at Assen, Jonathan Rea has some regrets about how the first two practice sessions panned out. The start of the show today was the Dutch weather, which did its best to disturb the World Champ's plans.

There is a lack of data with regard to the new bike on a wet track: "Unfortunately we've never had chance to test the Ninja in these conditions. We've working in this direction and, overall, the setting we've found should be good."

Johnny then explains the day's sixth place finish:"We were trying to understand more about the set-up in critical track conditions. I went out to put in fast time and get some confirmation, but a technical problem stopped me. Now, together with the mechanics we'll try to figure out more before tomorrow." He concludes: "Conditions won't be easy. The weather unfortunately looks uncertain for the coming days, but, wet or dry, we should be competitive."
