Petrucci to return for Le Mans round

Danilo Petrucci will be at Jerez for the Spanish Grand Prix but only as a spectator. He continues to recover but after what happened in Qatar it's important to be cautious. Petrux fractured four metacarpi in his right hand during testing at Phillip Island and his attempt to compete at Losail only made the situation worse, leading to another surgical procedure.

It's no surprise, we knew Danilo wouldn't take part in the Jerez GP - explains his team manager Francesco Guidotti - Last Tuesday he had a check-up, the feedback was positive but it's safer to wait until Le Mans”.

Also because the mistake of trying to reduce recovery times has already been made once.

“He was so excited and keen to take part in the first race of the season, now it's better to be cautious - continues the Pramac manager - There are too many risks, and isn't about just one race. It could compromise his hand, so it's better to wait”.

His recovery proceeds according to plan though, and this is the important thing.

Danilo is continuing treatment and is training, without forcing his hand of course - reveals Guidotti - He already has good mobility, but there's still some swelling. At Jerez he'll also be able to get checked by the doctors at the Clinica Mobile”.

His Ducati will again be entrusted to test rider Pirro.

I think Michele did well in the previous races. I'm pleased that he now comes to a track that he knows a lot better as this could make the difference. We'll support him as best we can, and are grateful for his help”, concludes the manager.
