Iannone renounces appeal, will start 7th

Andrea Iannone renounces his appeal regarding the penalty received after the incident with Andrea Dovizioso at Rio Hondo.

The Ducati rider had made an appeal, in line with regulations, immediately after the Argentinian Grand Prix to avoid starting three places back in Texas.

Race Direction, to make amends having admitted it did not see the documentation in time, asked the Italian if he wanted to postpone judgment to the next Grand Prix, which would have allowed him to have started fourth at Austin.

Andrea realised that if his appeal was rejected it would be even worse to receive the 3-position penalty in Spain than in America and the Italian therefore withdrew the appeal, rendering the penalty definitive.
