Rossi refuses a place in MotoGP for VR46

"We've been contacted but are not interested". A future as manager post-retirement? "Never say never"

Rossi refuses a place in MotoGP for VR46

The Spanish press dropped a bomb that failed to detonate: Rossi's VR46 wants to compete in MotoGP with a team in 2017. it's not the case, but there is some truth in the story. As Dorna did in fact contact Valentino to propose that he take up a free spot on the grid, as confirmed by the man himself.

I didn't speak with Ezpeleta directly, but they did contact us to tell us about the possibility - explains the Doctor - Truthfully it's not possible for us, we don't have the necessary structure, and are not interested”.

For now, Rossi is only thinking about Moto2.

We'll join this class in 2017 and will have two more bikes in Moto3, I think it's the best solution for us. By doing this, we can get some results. MotoGP is a totally different story,  we're not big enough to take it on - he continues - Our aim is still to develop young Italian talents and bring them to the reigning class, once there everything changes”.

Also because Valentino will continue to ride for two more years, then he might think about becoming a manager.

If you ask me right now I'd say no, but I've learned that you can never know in life”, and with this, he leaves a door open.
