With the spotlights switched off at the Cologne Intermot show, it is time to have a look at what is cooking for the upcoming EICMA show, scheduled for the second two weeks of November in Milan. The Milanese event will be the setting where many of the new items displayed in Germany can be admired first-hand and, in accordance with tradition, there will be no lack of brand new, juicy new products ready to take to the runway.

"3" - THE PERFECT NUMBER? - It would seem that Honda is not at all tired of making the fans’ hearts skip a beat and, after flexing their muscles with the SP and SP2 versions of the CBR1000RR (HERE AND HERE for more information), this will be the chance for a new version of the revamped supersport bike from Tokyo to take the stage.

In fact, at Eicma we will see a third Fireblade, but in a "standard" version that will maintain the same basic technical contents as the two SP siblings, but it will probably be available in a more affordable version. Perhaps we will not see solutions like the titanium fuel tank or the prestigious Öhlins suspension systems that, if on one hand enhance the SBK performance of the CBR, on the other they can have a heavy impact on the final price.

It may, however, stay the same in the electronics department. There is still no official data on how much the two versions presented will cost and consequently on what the budget will be for the third version that is on the way, but this move by the Tokyo giant leans toward a product that is more realistically within reach for a wide range of users, and ready to compete with competitors for a share of the market.

In any case, we will know more as we approach the upcoming event in Milan.
