Reduced ranks at Mugello

Today's test session at Mugello, for Aprilia and Ducati, was undertaken with just one rider for each teach.
The team from Noale sent Max Biaggi out on a relatively unchanged test bike, as the Roman preferred to simply get some laps under his belt to warm up for the Nurburgring, after a month off the bike. Max put in fifty laps over the course of the day, and he, along with the team, is determined to get back on the attack in Germany, after a very defensive round at Silverstone. This was the main reason he requested to participate at the Mugello test, and this is the only day he will ride.
The situation at Ducati was fairly similar, with one of their test team bikes being entrusted to Michel Fabrizio. A little over fifty laps for the younger of the two Roman riders, who also squeezed in some scheduled Pirelli tire testing. In his final laps of the day, Michel brought his times down as far as the 1'52" range, a pace that demonstrates his and the team's willingness to end the season in the best possible way.
Tomorrow Nori Haga will get his turn on the test bike, and we will see if there are any signs of an awakening from Japanese rider.
