The Honda rider was kind enough to grant us an interview, which we purposely conducted outside of the Bugatti circuit in order to give you a glimpse of the track entrance and to avoid incurring the wrath of Dorna.

Melandri, who scored an impressive second place finish here last year on the Hayate, brought us up to speed on his situation following the opening two rounds of the season. After his difficulties in winter testing and again at the first race in Qatar, his improvement in form at Jerez has put a smile back on his face.

What’s more, Marco has explained to us how to approach the Bugatti circuit, running through an ideal lap and pointing out the crucial points on the track. The most difficult section? According to Melandri the first chicane and the final corners, which are difficult to get right, are fundamental to a strong race showing.
