The yellow #46 is still on a Yamaha, yet, the fairings aren’t blue but black and green, the colors of the Malaysian Petronas team. Valentino Rossi left the factory for the satellite team to start writing another chapter of his never-ending career. He wore the Petronas colors for the first time today and unveiled his M1.
“It’s a new challenge for me. I’m staying in Yamaha but, yes, I’m joining a new team that has shown it’s capable of great things. The goal is to do the same in 2021,” were the Doctor’s first words. “I’m very happy. It’s a new experience for me, and I can’t wait for the first test and the first race to arrive. The colors have changed, and I really like the new livery of the bike, like my helmet and my suit.”
But Valentino assures us that he always has the same desire to win.
“I want to fight to win races and get on the podium and for a good position in the championship at the end of the year,” he said. “I’m very focused to do better. I’ll be in a young but very competitive team. The bike will be the same as always, and it’ll be fun. I have a long career and the M1 is my bike. I feel like a Yamaha rider. I’m looking forward to working with the team and engineers to improve performance.”
Rossi will have a special teammate.
“We’ll form a very interesting duo with Franco. We know each other well. We always train together, and we challenge each other on different bikes. Now we’ll do it with the MotoGP," the Doctor commented.
