MotoGP: LATEST NEWS - Two test sessions in Qatar, shakedown reduced to one day

Following a meeting between the organization of the Championship and the teams of the MotoGP class, changes to the Qatar test program have been agreed. Two extra official test days and one Shakedown day will now take place at the Losail International Circuit in March, ahead of and in addition to the previously confirmed Qatar tests, allowing teams extra preparation time ahead of the 2021 season.

A Shakedown will take place on March 5 where participation will be limited to test riders and rookies in the MotoGP class only.

On 6 and 7 March, all riders will be able to participate in two extra days of official tests.

The new MotoGP class test program is therefore as follows:

3-4 March: Set-up day

5 March: Shakedown reserved for rookies and test riders only

6-7 March: Official Tests

10-12 March: Official Tests

According to the new test calendar, therefore, the riders will only lose one day of testing, with five in total instead of the six expected. Rookies have things a bit worse, with the Shakedown reserved for them reduced from three to one day.
