First day of practice in Bahrain for Valentino Rossi, Luca Marini and Alessio 'Uccio' Salucci in the Kessel Racing team's Ferrari GT3. The three faced the track for the first time in two free practice sessions, the first during the day and the second at night.

The first results were comforting, with the 4th final time and still some work to be done for qualifying.

“We are very happy, it went well - said Valentino satisfied - During the day we set the 3rd fastest time and 4th at night, there are a lot of fast drivers and we are also fast. We will have to work on the pace because the stints will be very long, more than an hour and we will have to try to improve the balance of the car to remain consistent. The track is new for everyone but beautiful, we all felt very good on it”.

Marini also shared his optimism.

"It was a positive day, we drove a lot looking for the right set-up for the car because the track had little grip, especially at the rear - he explained - I think we found a good compromise, in the time attack we were very fast and Vale and Uccio also did some long runs to understand consumption and tyre wear, tomorrow I'll do it too and we'll try to improve ”.

Uccio identified a lack of rear grip as a major problem.

“It was a very, very positive first day. We worked to find the best set-up of the car and we are not far even if we are still missing something, it slides a lot at the rear but we had fun - he said - I did a 45 minute run to understand my physical condition because I can assure you that it's not easy".

The next appointment is at 7.30 in the morning with the last three free practice sessions and then in the afternoon, at 14.45, the qualifying session.

The race will be on Saturday from 7:30 am to 1:30 pm and then leave room for the second six hours of competition from 3:30 pm which will end at 9:30 pm.
