Moto3, Alonso Lopez against Biaggi: “Left stranded with a signed contract”

The Spanish rider complained on social media about Max Racing Team’s decision: “They preferred a rider who brings in money. But my dream doesn’t end here.”

Moto3: Alonso Lopez against Biaggi: “Left stranded with a signed contract”

It was obviously not an entirely peaceful separation, but the announcement made by Max Biaggi’s Max Racing Team generated a rather piqued reaction from Alonso Lopez. The team managed by the champion from Rome has, in fact, decided to take on Adrian Fernandez, Raul’s younger brother, alongside Romano Fenati, for 2021.

No problem, so far, except that the bike had previously been assigned to Alonso Lopez, already on the team in 2020. The Spanish rider publicly responded to the team’s announcement with a rather annoyed comment.

As many of you know, I won’t be continuing in the world championship with Max Racing Team. Despite having a contract for next year, they left me stranded in December, because they took on a paying rider in my place. This will not be the end of me. I’ll try to do my best to move forward with my dream. Thank you very much for all the messages of support I received yesterday.”

Many riders supported Lopez by commenting on his post on Instagram. Aleix Espargarò, Joan Mir, and Alex Rins defended the young rider, and many riders from both the Moto3 and the Moto2 also posted their support for Lopez.
