MotoGP, Morbidelli: "I'm sorry for Marquez, but he'll come back as strong as before"

"In Monza I am experiencing emotions I have never felt before in my life, pity about a puncture. Today's rain was the same as at Silverstone 2018 "

MotoGP: Morbidelli:

While Franco Morbidelli was making his rally debut at Monza, Marc Marquez was undergoing his third surgery which lasted a good eight hours. News that the Roman from Tavullia learned only this morning, shortly after getting up, just a few minutes before getting into his Hyundai to tackle the second leg of the Monza Rally.

And it was precisely towards the #93 that the world championship runner-up wanted to send a message of sympathy.

“I am very sorry for what Marc has been going through in recent months - he commented - I think it is the most complicated period of his career following an injury as important as the one that occurred at Jerez in the summer. However, I wish he will overcome it soon and in the best possible way. I am convinced that when he gets back on track with all of us riders he will be as strong as we know him to be”.

A quick comment, also because Franco had no time to lose, since he had to return to the garage and prepare for the third leg of the Monza Rally, which will start tomorrow at 7:52. But first, he had time to sum up his Friday.

“I had a great time today. First of all, we brought the car back to the garage safe and sound, experiencing emotions never felt before in my life and encountering extreme weather conditions. It was great to see how the car behaved on gravel and mud, as I never would have imagined it. The balance is therefore positive ".

During the day there was a small unscheduled mishap, which made him drop to 54th place 12 minutes from the top.

"Pity about the puncture I picked up in the fourth stage, which made us lose a bit of time. The last test on the asphalt, however, turned out to be fantastic, especially because it was held in the dark ".

More than at Monza today it seemed like being in the UK…

“This day reminds me of Silverstone 2018, when we didn't race. It is also true that we were with the bike there, but here we are in the car. Compared to that GP in England on four wheels we are safer (jokes) "

Tomorrow it’s off to the roads of Bergamo where the snow will be waiting …

“Saturday will be a tough day, a full day in the mountains awaits me. I am curious to see what I will be able to do. I will have a lot to learn, obviously trying not to make mistakes and push at the right pace. I hope there are snow banks, so I can push harder (he jokes) ”.

Finally, there was a comment about his birthday…

“I thank everyone who wrote to me, unfortunately I didn't reply to anyone because I was in the car. This is a special birthday for me on four wheels. My heartfelt thanks go to Hyundai and Withu ”.
