MotoGP, Bagnaia admits he’s missing something in setting up the Ducati

"For me it is not logical and acceptable to be slower on the second day than on the first, instead I am fifteenth on the grid"

MotoGP: Bagnaia admits he’s missing something in setting up the Ducati

It was not the qualification he expected, also because he will have to start from 15th place on the grid. It was a disappointing Saturday at Portimao for Francesco Bagnaia, who was unable to get into Q2. And to think that after Friday's free practice his expectations were very different, but in the end the rider from Piedmont was unable to make that hoped-for change of gear.

“It was a complicated qualifying - he began - we worked on the bike to try and combat the wind, but I was unable to be fast. I will therefore have to take a step back for tomorrow. Too bad because in FP4 I was slow. This is an aspect on which I have been focussing, since it is not logical and just should not happen, instead it was the exact opposite. I am of the opinion that we are missing something".

Meanwhile Miller and Zarco are showing that they are entirely at ease with the Rossa...

“Zarco and Miller don't have a better pace than mine. Jack proved to be strong, but on race pace he is eight tenths of a second from the fastest. He was able to do a strong flying lap, managing among other things to stay with the top guys. He and I have some different things on the bike and maybe on Sunday we will try and come into line"

Sunday will be his last race with Pramac. Precisely for this reason he hoped to arrive tomorrow in a better position on the grid…

“If I had started further ahead it would have been better, instead I will have to start from 15th position. It is a great shame, because it is as if we find ourselves at Misano, as we struggled to improve after that race. Too bad, because we are all aware of the potential of our bike, but as I said we are missing something. When things are okay, I'm fast, while in this case I'm disappointed, because there is the potential to have a good race. I would certainly like to say goodbye to Pramac in the best possible way, even if we need to make a step forward ”.
