The technical investigation carried out by the FIM on the Yamaha engines used in the first Jerez GP has come to an end and the Iwata manufacturer has been found guilty, but the riders are safe.

The FIM explained that Yamaha has not complied with the protocol which requires unanimous approval of the MSMA for technical changes.

For this reason, Yamaha was sanctioned with a penalty of 50 points in the Constructors' championship, double those obtained, for failing to comply with the protocol required for technical changes.

The two teams were also sanctioned: Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP lost the 20 points scored at Jerez valid for the Team classification, Petronas Yamaha SRT, for the same reason, 37 points.

No consequences, which is the most important thing, for the riders.
