MotoGP: Valentino Rossi: “With me and Federica, the Coronavirus raised the bar”

Valentino Rossi hasn't lost his sense of humor, even after finding out he tested positive for the Coronavirus. Quarantined in his home in Tavullia, he was the guest of Linus and Nicola Savino on the Deejay Chiama Italia show today.

“If I would've had to stay a week, ten days in Aragon, I would’ve thrown myself off the terrace.” That's the first thing the Doctor said, but he’s at least lucky enough to spend this time at home.

His face was on the front pages of all the newspapers today, along with that of Federica Pellegrini, who also tested positive yesterday.

I wrote to her too. ‘The virus has good taste. Me, you, Cristiano Ronaldo, Ibrahimovic. It raised the bar',” Valentino continued, as he smiled.

Then he got more serious, talking about how he found out he had contracted it.

I took the classic swab test on Tuesday morning, and I was fine. I could have left for Aragon,” he explained. “Fortunately, between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, I wasn’t feeling good and I had symptoms... back pain, my bones and head hurt, I had a temperature of 37.6. I went for another swab, the quick one, and it was negative, but I decided not to leave because I was sick. Then, in the afternoon, I got a positive result. Luckily, I’m home. It’s like the flu. I have a constant fever, my bones hurt.

Rossi, however, absolutely dislikes watching his colleagues on the track on TV.

My nervousness hasn’t passed yet,” he said. “I’ll watch the tests. It’s really cold this morning in Aragon. Riding a bike with 5 ° is horrible and also dangerous, but I hope that the temperature drops even more,” were his last words.
