Moto2: Xavi Vierge will try to race to Aragon despite the fractures

This weekend will see Xavi Vierge and Jake Dixon tackle the second event in the October triple-header: the Gran Premio de Aragón.

Vierge, who sustained fractures in both feet after a highside during the French GP, underwent further medical checks with Dr. Xavier Mir earlier this week in Barcelona. Dr. Mir confirmed the diagnoses from the Le Mans circuit of three fractured toes and a fractured lateral malleolus. The Spaniard has already commenced his physiotherapy programme and will be looking to be as fit as possible for this weekend’s race.

Team-mate Dixon will be heading into the 11th Moto2 race of the season with renewed confidence, despite crashing out of the French GP. Showing good speed and maturity, the Brit was unfortunate for his race to end whilst he was leading. Although Jake doesn’t have much experience at the Aragón circuit, he is confident of being able to replicate his speed and rhythm, to hopefully end the weekend with a great result.

Free Practice 1 for the Moto2 pair will get underway on Friday at 10.55am local time (4.55pm MYT), with a start time for Sunday’s 21-lap race of 12.20pm local time (6.20pm MYT).
