A few days after his early split with NP Motorcycles, Bjorn Estment has found a new slot on the BSB British Superbike grid. The South African of Italian origin, as announced in last week's article, will be present at the start of the Brands Hatch final in the Powerslide Motorcycles Team.

The 35-year-old will be out on track in the last three races of the season riding a Suzuki GSXR-R 1000. The team headed by Brad Clarke, a stable presence for several years in the paddock of the UK domestic championship, has decided to make the leap into the top class by joining forces with Catfoss Modular and Rich Energy.

Already supporting teams of the calibre of Buildbase Suzuki and OMG Racing in recent seasons, this weekend the main objective will be to obtain the best possible result, also with one eye on 2021. For Bjorn Estment, however, it will be a good opportunity to show his potential with the Gixxer that is doing well in the hands of Kyle Ryde (double win at Silverstone 'National') and Gino Rea in this crazy 2020 season.

“It fills me with loads of confidence to be receiving the tech support through the Powerslide squad,” declared Estment. “I love Brands Hatch and always enjoy every lap of the magnificent GP circuit. The plan is to keep it simple, understand the tools we have at our disposal, and most importantly have a lot of fun finishing off the British Superbike season.”

Lachlan Epis making his BSB debut with NP Motorcycles

In parallel with events related to Bjorn Estment, his former team, NP Motorcycles, has also been quick to act over the last few days. Finding itself without a rider for the last round at Brands Hatch, a few hours ago came the news of the signing of youngster Lachlan Epis.

With a past spent in World SuperSport 600, CEV, European SuperStock 600, SuperSport 600 and Australian Superbike, the 20-year-old will make his debut this weekend in the most spectacular and hard-fought national SBK championship in the world aboard a S1000-RR, a great way to test his potential. Furthermore, before Brands Hatch, Lachlan Epis will have the opportunity to familiarize himself with the BMW in a private test at Donington Park.

“I am really excited to be teaming up with NP Motorcycles for the final round of BSB this weekend at Brands Hatch,” said Epis. "Having never raced in BSB I don’t know what to expect results wise. The goal is the get up to speed with the team and BMW on Tuesday at Donington Park before heading to Brands Hatch. I’m focused on getting the best results possible for the team and enjoying getting back on a Superbike after having raced in World Supersport for most of the year. I can’t wait!”
