MotoGP, Dovizioso on Domenicali: "Not a good idea to write on Twitter"

Ducati's CEO argued that Bagnaia's riding style solves Ducati's limits. Morbidelli: "Winning makes you believe more in yourself"

MotoGP: Dovizioso on Domenicali:

Last Sunday Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati, congratulated Bagnaia on his first podium in MotoGP. On Twitter he wrote: "His fantastic riding style, very off from the bike, helps a lot to be fast also in cornering speed where we often were suffering."

Today, at Misano, Dovizioso was asked to comment on these words. "I didn’t see that and I don’t think it is a good idea for Domenicali to tweet on Twitter" was the response accompanied by a smile, with a clear reference also to the past, when the CEO's statements on Lorenzo via social networks had caused controversy. Thus revealing how the relations between the two of them are, clearly, not particularly idyllic…

Apart from that, Andrea is trying to enjoy his first place in the standings and, above all, to understand how to keep it.

“It's a crazy championship, everyone has had so many ups and downs that's why we are so close in the standings - explained the rider from Forlì - I'm happy with this position, but I have to take a step forward to fight for the title. In this sense I am happy with the tests on Tuesday, where I was able to be fast and ride more relaxed by trying a different set-up. But only the race weekend will tell what the reality is. Certainly in the tests my sensations were better than on Sunday ”.

Dovi knows where to focus on...

“I haven't been able to be fast in qualifying in the last few races, but right now it's not the biggest problem - he continued - In many GPs I haven't been fast enough, I have to be stronger. This is a more difficult championship because you never know what will happen; if no one has managed to be consistent so far there is a reason. In each race you find conditions different from what you would expect and the new rear tyre requires you to change your riding style. As the races continue, however, the situation is becoming clearer. Or at least I hope so ".

With so many changes ahead, it's important to keep nerves of steel...

“Every athlete has to manage the pressure - observed Dovizioso - On the one side the riders like the pressure, depends which kind of pressure you mean because the feeling is something strange and everybody manages it in a different way. The pressure is tension, you don’t feel good but you need it to excel. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.”

Morbidelli: "After winning you know you can do it again and you want it"

While Dovizioso is a regular at the top of the standings, Morbidelli and Bagnaia are what the British define as a ‘new entry’. Both have the right energy to face another weekend at Misano and they are still thinking about those laps spent with Valentino a few days ago…

“I never thought I would be with him in MotoGP when I started my career in the World Championship,” confessed Franco. “I did – said Pecco - I think it's normal because all the riders think they're going to MotoGP. But it is something strange and at the same time special to race against your idol, even if, when it happens, he becomes a rider like any other”.

For Morbidelli, the goal is to reconfirm his form this weekend and his first victory left its mark…

"Winning is an injection of many sensations and one of those is self-confidence - he explained - I remember when it happened in Moto2, every time I went out on the track I knew I could do it again. It's a feeling that you don't have until you win, it gives you something more to win again and again. I hope to do it again, to have a nice weekend like last year. It will be important to reconfirm my level ”.

Bagnaia will also start off with greater confidence, but in particular as regards his physical condition.

"Now I know that my leg will not give me any problems for the race and therefore I will be able to work better from Friday," he said.
