MotoGP, Rossi after FP1s: "Same problems and sensations in Austria as in Brno"

"I'm fast on the bike. With the right setup, I'll be in the top positions." Vinales: "It's difficult, but I'm not far from the best."

MotoGP: Rossi after FP1s:

The start at the Red Bull Ring was not the best for the official Yamaha team. Both riders are out of the top ten, which guarantees direct access to the Q2, but both Rossi and Vinales show cautious optimism at the end of the first free practice session.

Valentino is 13th, but he feels he has room for improvement.

The sensations here are quite similar to the ones I had in Brno. We have the same problems,"  the Doctor explained. "But it was only the FP1s, and we still have many laps to do. Being able to improve is in our hands. I'll do my best to collect the best data, then we'll see. But I felt really strong on the track. As for my driving style, I feel we’re fine, and that’s the most important thing. When we find the right set-up, I think we’ll be there to fight for the top positions.

Maverick, 11th, knows he has to improve.

It’s difficult, because I couldn’t stay in the top ten this morning,”  he commented.  “As always. there are lots of different riders and bikes that go really fast. We’re close, we’re not that far, but we have to work and improve several aspects. We’ll see, and we hope to be able to do another dry test session this afternoon.
