MotoGP, Rossi after the FP3: "Good team work, we've improved the M1"

Valentino entered the Q2 with an 8th fastest time. Vinales is 5th: "A little problem on a bike, but I'm happy with my pace"

MotoGP: Rossi after the FP3:

Valentino Rossi took a distinct step forward in the third free practice session in Jerez. Yesterday's direct entry into the Q2 seemed like a mirage, but his 8th time guaranteed it for him this morning. A ray of sunshine appeared in the Doctor's garage.

"Today we improved because we changed the bike's set up, and the team did a good job because, during the FP3, I improved my pace, and that's good," Valentino said. "I managed to stay in the top 10, which is very important for the race. We still have work to do but, for this morning, the most important thing was to stay in the top 10, so we're fine."

Maverick Vinales was still fast with a 5th fastest time, but not on the same level as yesterday. There was however a reason.

It was a good round, even if we had a small problem on a bike," the Spanish rider explained. "This meant not being able to use it to make the time. I still liked the second one, but it was very important to be in the Q2. Now we also have a lot of data to improve that bike. However, I felt really good on the track, especially regarding my pace. I'm really happy, enthusiastic, and excited to be in the Q2 and to start qualifying."
