Danilo Petrucci was not lucky during the afternoon test session in Jerez. The Ducati rider fell at Turn 11 due to oil spilled by Aleix Espargarò’s Aprilia.

The rider from Terni was taken to the medical center for a check-up, and doctors determined a significant neck contracture, but no serious injury, so much so that he was given the okay to continue with the tests.

But Petrucci could stop as a precaution. Ducati is now deciding what to do.

Meanwhile, the track closed for more than half an hour to allow the commissioners to clean the asphalt.

After leaving the medical center, Petrucci reassured everyone about his condition: “Only a head injury, I thought worse,” he told Sky reporters.
