The competition has already started for Andrea Dovizioso, not on asphalt, but on the cross track in Faenza, with the first stage of the Emilia Romagna Regional Motocross Championship today. The first actual appointment of the season.

Andrea has always professed his faith in cross-country racing, having grown between dirt and asphalt. He's on the track for this appointment thanks to Ducati: a courageous choice but one that wasn't granted to Danilo Petrucci.

“Ducati understands how useful this race is for me," Andrea said."How cross has helped me and continues to help me be faster in the early stages of the race, which is also very useful from a MotoGP perspective. Since I started this training, I've already seen results. Here today we have the best riders from the Italian cross panorama, so it'll certainly be a useful day in many ways."

The hot topic that everyone's talking about with regard to the rider from Forlì is obviously the market, which Andrea firmly avoids, however, confirming his desire to continue racing.

“It's absolutely not true that I want to quit. If that were the case, I'd have already communicated it. The new calendar? I think it has both negative and positive aspects, since both unfavorable and favorable circuits have disappeared. The championship will be short and, consequently, nothing can be wrong."

Another important aspect of the coming season is that of the double race on the same track, which Dovizioso himself still struggles to decipher. "The fact of racing twice on the same track remains an enigma. I can't say who will benefit from it and who won't. Marquez on his part, manages to often be fast right from the start."
