Andrea Dovizioso had recently expressed his doubts about the four-year contract Marc Marquez signed.
"I was very surprised and didn't expect it. Actually, I had a completely different idea of what Marc would have done. But with decisions that are this important, there are always things that happen on the sidelines that we don't know about. I think it's a strange decision. I expected him to accept a challenge on another bike, but I guess he has his reasons."
Alberto Puig, who is known for always saying what he thinks and doesn't mince words, didn't think twice in answering.
"Some time ago, not so long ago, Andrea Dovizioso came to us and asked us if he could come back and ride for Honda, and now, suddenly, he wonders why Marc has signed again? I don't get him. He knows what I'm talking about...", HRC's Team Principal concluded, leaving the door open to interpretation: during his last contract renewal with Ducati, Dovi's manager, Simone Battistella, might have asked Honda about the possibility of his returning to the Repsol HRC team, with which he had raced from 2008 to 2011.
Dovizioso won with Honda won in 2009 in Donington and knows their potential well.
