The 2020 Aprilia season in the MotoGP officially opens with the presentation of the new livery with the Italian project that was entirely revolutionized during the winter. The Aprilia racing department has developed to put its experience and skills to good use into the MotoGP and turn it into a technical growth.

The result is an entirely redesigned RS-GP. Aprilia Racing has conceived a prototype that has been optimized overall, starting from its refined aerodynamics combined with a new 90 degree V engine. The package is completed by the exclusive seamless gearbox, developed internally, and a double beam aluminum frame, material also taken from the rear swingarm. They've also greatly focused on the electronic sector, thanks to an in-house staff at Aprilia Racing that was reinforced during the last season.

The structure of the Team, without counting the new staff, remains substantially unchanged. Aprilia Racing's CEO, Massimo Rivola is now supported by Technical Director Romano Albesiano and Team Manager Fausto Gresini. Both sides of the box are managed by Antonio Jimenez and Pietro Caprara, technicians with a proven experience in the MotoGP paddock.

Massimo Rivola, Aprilia Racing's CEO: "This past winter was the longest of the last few years for Aprilia Racing. Everyone made a truly incredible effort. Arriving in Sepang with two prototypes was already a small victory for us. The new RS-GP was promising during the first tests. That's where we have to start, in order to build our season. I said it, and I confirm it: we can't expect a clear course. We'll certainly have a complicated first half of the season with a really new bike, but I'm sure that, from the middle of the championship, we'll be able to see the true value of the great work carried out in Noale. With the hope of having Andrea with us as soon as possible and being able to have all our riders, with also Aleix and Bradley, together."

Romano Albesiano, technical director: “The RS-GP 2020 represents a unique technical challenge for Aprilia Racing. The new bike was created by putting together all the key concepts of the racing department and reworking them in light of the experience accumulated over the past few seasons. It's an innovative prototype in many respects, starting from the most clearly visible ones and, in this, it confirms Aprilia Racing's attitude, which has its main value in technological innovation. Like all redesigns, it'll need a period of fine-tuning. Our schedule in the last few months has been extremely tight, but I'm absolutely satisfied with the result achieved. A satisfaction that I'm pleased to share with the Noale team."

Fausto Gresini, team manager: “Knowing that the riders immediately liked the new bike during the Malaysian tests was the first, good news for our 2020 season. Aprilia Racing's effort has been incredible. A demonstration of will and dedication to this championship. The beginning won't be simple. The bike is young and obviously needs to be developed. But I believe that the strength of a team is seen precisely in these moments, when there is a need to compact the ranks and aim for the same goal. After the enthusiasm for a good debut, we're waiting for the response of other tracks, starting right from Qatar. We must all stay focused on one ambition: to bring this project to the highest level possible."
