What happened this morning was a real tragedy when, during Race 1 of the Asia Talent Cup, Afridza Munandar met his fate. On the first lap at Turn 10, the young Indonesian rider, third in the Championship standings, had a fatal accident that cost him is life.

It was a shock for the entire paddock in Sepang. Alberto Puig, Talent Promotion Director, met all the participants in the Championship to ask whether they were willing to race or not in Race 2 on Sunday.

The response of the riders was unanimous, deciding to continue. So Race 2 in Sepang will take place and will be dedicated to the memory of Afridza Munandar. Right before the start, a minute of silence will be observed to remember the young Indonesian rider.
