MotoGP: Quartararo with an official Yamaha M1 in 2020

Fabio Quartararo will have an official Yamaha in 2020. The announcement arrived during the Petronas team's home GP in Malaysia. This means that, next year,  the French rider will be treated like his teammate, Franco Morbidelli, and both will ride an 'A-Spec' M1, the same bike that riders Valentino Rossi and Maverick Vinales on the official team will be riding next season.

Lin Jarvis, managing director for Yamaha, ratified the agreement. "We're happy to have reached it, and the Petronas team will have two 'A-Spec' bikes next year. Both Franco's and Fabio's performance have been excellent this season. Petronas' support for this new team was crucial in order to allow it to take another step forward in 2020. Yamaha is committed to ensuring the best possible support for the team and  will make sure the riders continue to progress in 2020 and continue to win races, hoping to become the best team, and not only among the private ones."
