At the Malaysian Grand Prix, Alex Marquez has a second chance to clinch his second world title and his first in Moto2 – the 11th for a Spanish rider in the intermediate category.

Tom Lüthi, Brad Binder and Jorge Navarro are now his only rivals. The most likely scenarios to give Alex Marquez the title are as follows:

If Marquez wins the race, he will be Champion irrespective of Lüthi, Binder, Navarro’s results.

If Marquez finishes 2nd, he will be Champion if Lüthi does not win the race

If Marquez finishes 3rd or 4th, he will be Champion if Lüthi does not finish 1st or 2nd and Binder does not win the race

If Marquez finishes 5th or 6th, he will be Champion if Lüthi does not finish on the podium and Binder does not finish 1st or 2nd

If Marquez finishes 7th or 8th he will be Champion if Lüthi does not finish better than 5th and Binder does not finish 1st or 2nd

If Marquez finishes 9th, he will be Champion if Lüthi does not finish better than 6th, and Binder does not finish on the podium

If Marquez finishes 10th, he will be Champion if Lüthi does not finish better than 7th, Binder does not finish on the podium and Navarro does not win the race

If Marquez finishes 11th, he will be Champion if Lüthi does not finish better than 8th, Binder does not finish on the podium, and Navarro does not win the race

If Marquez finishes 12th, he will be Champion if Lüthi does not finish better than 9th, Binder does not finish better than 5th, and Navarro does not win the race

If Marquez finishes 13th, he will be Champion if Lüthi does not finish better than 10th, Binder does not finish better than 5th, and Navarro does not win the race

If Marquez finishes 14th, he will be Champion if Lüthi does not finish better than 11th, Binder does not finish better than 6th, and Navarro does not win the race

If Marquez finishes 15th, he will be Champion if Lüthi does not finish better than 12th, Binder does not finish better than 7th, and Navarro does not finish 1st or 2nd

 If Marquez fails to score points, he will be Champion if Lüthi does not finish better than 13th, Binder does not finish better than 8th and Navarro does not finish 1st or 2nd.
