MotoGP, Rins: "I want Dovizioso's second place"

"I also have to defend third place from Vinales and Petrucci. Guintoli? He'll be a big help, he'll test different things to us this weekend"

The current season will definitely leave Alex Rins with some important memories. So many strong results, a few crashes too many (but which help in terms of experience) and third place in the championship, to be defended over the course of the final four rounds, with one eye on Dovizioso's second place.

"I want to finish the season with some podiums, and maybe even win my third race of the year. The main goal is to defend third place in the championship but I also want to try and catch Dovizioso in second, there's a 48-point difference so it's difficult but not impossible".

What do you expect this weekend? Motegi is Suzuki's home track and you've always gone well here.

"This is a special weekend for Suzuki of course. In recent years I've had a special helmet when racing here. The track doesn't perfectly suit the bike but in my first year I finished fourth and last year I was on the podium in third. I really like the track, I love the lines and so hope to do well again this weekend".

Guintoli will also be on track this weekend. He's tested a lot at this track, can he help you?

"I've not seen the data yet but I'm sure it will help. He'll test different things to us this weekend, he's going to do a good job”.

Marc Marquez secured the title in Thailand. Do you think he might relax now?

"Marquez likes to win, he's a rider like all of us. I think he'll want to win again during these last races and we have to do what we can to prevent him”.
