There were once two riders from Puglia… It’s not a joke. It’s the story of two guys who both had a passion for engines. The first is Michele, the second Antonio. Michele grew up with a passion for motorcycles. So much so that he became Ducati’s test rider. Instead, Antonio loved four wheels, to the point that he realized his dream of racing in Formula 1.

Who are we talking about? You got it. Pirro and Giovinazzi, and both are from to the same region in Italy. Recently, the rider from Martina Franca was present at the Balocco track during a meeting with the media. In an interview with Corriere dello Sport, the new Alfa Romeo rider unveiled his relationship with his Ducati colleague: “I know Michele well, also because we grew up in the same region,”  said Giovinazzi. “Like me, he cultivated his dream of doing something big with engines, and I think that being in Ducati as a test rider is a great achievement.”

In addition to four wheels, the new color bearer is also a big fan of the World Championship, to such an extent that he sees a resemblance in a young rookie from the premier class: “I think I see myself in Bagnaia,” he revealed.  “In some ways, he is my benchmark.  Pecco had a great World Championship in Moto2, winning the title and having the opportunity to ride an Italian bike in the top class. I think that's the greatest thing for a rider. It would be nice for both to achieve great satisfaction on the track.”
