MotoGP, Iannone: “Suzuki and I are moving in the right direction”

Andrea: “The track is different than the test. Honda and Ducati are the favourites, then us and Yamaha”

MotoGP: Iannone: “Suzuki and I are moving in the right direction”

His session ended a few minutes early due to a crash. Nothing serious, however, for Andrea Iannone, who can console himself with the time he did in the morning which, for the moment, gives him the certainty of going through to Q2 on Saturday afternoon. Therefore, The Maniac wears a serene expression on his face.

I think the crash was due to the cold tyre, since that side was not very stressed – Andrea began – On that section, I already realised that I was going down as the steering began to tilt. Despite the crash, I would judge this to be a positive Friday – he added – The track does not reflect the test conditions based on what Michelin is saying and we noticed that straight away.”

Andrea then talked about the tyre issue.

We are moving in the right direction – the Suzuki rider said – but we need to put the entire package together, trying to ride a good race. If we improve on one side, on the other we get a bit worse, but we are only at the beginning. For sure, in terms of the tyres, with the soft on the rear, you won’t finish the race, contrary to what we were told.

In any case, Andrea has no doubts as to who the favourites will be.

“The levels are the same as always with the Ducatis and Hondas, then obviously there are the Yamahas and hopefully us.”
