SBK, Rea irrepressible: "I win with the rules against me"

SBK: Rea irrepressible: "I win with the rules against me"

Cosa si può fare contro questo Rea? Praticamente nulla.

“I knew that it would be an uphill climb starting from further back – he begins – but I was able to find great pace, lapping consistently in the low 1’23s and that was the key. The team did an amazing job this weekend, quickly rebuilding the bike after the crash on Friday, and I did the rest on track, finding great sensation in less than simple conditions, considering the heat”.

Johnny takes the opportunity to get something off his chest.

“This year, the rules are against us and it's clear - he told our Speedweek colleagues – our engineers and the whole team are doing a great job anyway, focusing on the balance of the bike. We're not doing anything revolutionary with the ZX-10RR, but the results of our hard work are clear to see”.

Rea returns to the race.

“I didn't make a great start, I tried to follow Chaz and eventually reached Laverty, finding a way past him. As I've said, my pace allowed me to make the difference and win”.

Despite his championship lead, the three-time champion is not lowering his guard.

“There are still many races and it's very easy to make a mistake, if my lead is the same after Misano then I can be more relaxed when it comes to the second half of the championship”.
