SBK, Savadori: 4th? The problem is the 25-lap race length"

Lorenzo just 0.008 of a second from the top three at Laguna Seca: "The Aprilia is still too tiring and physical, I hope to do better than at Brno"

SBK: Savadori: 4th? The problem is the 25-lap race length"

One of the positives of Friday at Laguna Seca is undoubtedly the fourth fastest time set by Lorenzo Savadori. The stars and stripes weekend has got off to a flying start for the Italian, who hopes to be able to put a spoke in the wheels of the frontrunners.

Lorenzo is confident, but is also keeping his feet on the ground.

Overall, i can say we've had a positive Friday, the only problem is going to be the 25 laps of the race (he smiles). We're quite competitive on the flying lap, the problem is having to cover the entire race distance”.

Savadori expands on this.

“unfortunately the Aprilia is still very demanding and tiring physically-speaking  - he explained to our Speedweek colleagues – this is the main aspect we need to resolve ahead of the next races".

The Italian remains optimistic.

Unfortunately my championship started with that bad crash Phillip Island, when I broke my collarbone. I hope to be competitive here at Laguna and do better than I did at Brno. There are still many races left to run and I'll try to work to make the bike less physical to ride”.
