The Moto2 tests at Aragon came with a surprise: the return of Jonas Folger, riding the Triumph-powered Kalex. The German rider was diagnosed with Gilbert's syndrome last year and, owing to his physical condition, he did not participate in the last four races of 2017. Then, in January, he told the Tech3 team that he was unable to compete this year.

Since then we had lost all trace of Jonas, until Wednesday that is, when it climbed back on to a race bike for the first time. A photo of the event was published on social networks by his fan club.

Folger raced with Kalex for three years in Moto2, from 2014 to 2016, and also competed in Moto3 with the KTM with an Austrian frame. At Aragon he tested the prototype with British engine that will take to the track in 2019. We wait to hear whether Jonas is considering a return to the world championship.
